David is the chief executive officer of Alerian, a leading independent index provider focused on building innovative, index-based investment strategies with over $23 billion in total assets tracking its indexes. David has over 20 years of experience in the financial markets. Most recently, David was the US Head of SPDR ETF Capital Markets and a member of the senior leadership team at State Street Global Advisors, a $2.8 trillion dollar global asset manager. Prior to State Street, David led Nasdaq’s Exchange Traded Product Marketplace where he was responsible for all aspects of strategy and business development for Nasdaq’s ETF listing and trading businesses. Before joining Nasdaq, David was a member of the New York Stock Exchange and American Stock Exchange where he managed trading businesses. David earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Georgetown University, served on the Security Traders Association of New York (STANY) Board and holds FINRA Series 7, 24, 55, and 63 licenses.
Head of Sales
Robert is responsible for managing and developing sales strategies for Alerian’s indexing, benchmarking and calculation services. His expertise helps to advance the global footprint of the firm’s energy infrastructure, thematic, and smart beta indexes. Rob received his BA in Political Science from The University of Notre Dame. Prior to Alerian, Rob served as the first head of sales for three other companies, most recently as the global head of index and advisor solutions for Nasdaq Global Indexes. He has also served as a director for the Independent Research Network (IRN), a joint venture co-owned by Nasdaq and Reuters.
Director of Index Operations
Patrick is responsible for the development, production and maintenance of all S-Network indexes, including indexes that serve as the underlying for financial products holding over $23 billion in AUM. He is also responsible for the oversight of product-centered company IT. Patrick started at S-Network in 2007 and has engaged directly in every facet of the index business. He oversees development and production of domestic and international equity indexes as well as indexes that include 40-Act funds, futures and options.
Patrick has been responsible for the development of S-Network’s Benchmark Index Series and the Refinitiv/S-Network ESG Best Practices Indexes and Ratings, as well as a number of smart beta and thematic indexes. Patrick is a member of the IADB Sustainable Index Committee.
Prior to joining S-Network, Patrick worked as a Research Analyst for Dow Jones Indexes, where he was a member of the custom index quarterly review. Patrick earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance with a concentration in Management Information Systems from Rutgers University School of Business.
Co-Founder and Strategic Advisor
Joseph is Co-Founder and Strategic Advisor of S-Network Global Indexes.
Prior to S-Network, Joseph served as a Managing Director of UBS, with responsibility for all facets of the firm’s global exchange traded fund (ETF) initiative. Prior to joining UBS, Joseph was a Managing Director and Senior Consultant of S-Network LLC, where he maintained responsibility for relationships with key clients, including State Street Bank & Trust, Goldman Sachs and Barclays Global Investors. Before joining S-Network, Joseph was a Managing Director of Deutsche Bank where he was responsible for the bank’s US index arbitrage and portfolio trading businesses. Joseph managed Deutsche Bank’s entry into the US ETF market, launching the first open-end 40-Act Fund to be listed on a US stock exchange. He also worked as part of the management teams at both Nomura and Kidder Peabody, with responsibility for managing those firms’ index arbitrage businesses. Joseph graduated with a BA in Political Science from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
Co-Founder and Strategic Advisor
Richard is Co-Founder and Strategic Advisor of S-Network Global Indexes.
Prior to S-Network, Richard worked as a Senior Consultant to UBS, with responsibility for the firm’s EUR 1 billion+ European exchange traded fund initiative. Richard also served as a Managing Director and Senior Consultant of S-Network LLC, where he advised major financial institutions on ETFs and index-based product development. He maintained primary responsibility for relationships with the American Stock Exchange, Deutsche Borse and UBS and helped facilitate iShares and Vanguard’s entry into the US ETF market Prior to joining S-Network, Richard served as Managing Director of HP Corporate Communications, Inc., a New York consulting firm specializing in strategic planning for large financial institutions. Over a fifteen-year period, Richard was responsible for overseeing long-term relationships with Deutsche Bank, UBS, Swiss Bank Corporation, Societe Generale, National Westminster Bank, Deutsche Borse, Eurex, the German Economics Ministry, the Czech State (Central) Bank, the Deutsche Bundesbank and the United Nations Development Program, among others. Richard attended Hunter College.
Senior Quantitative Analyst
George is responsible for index optimization, factor model research and quantitative modeling. He also develops and monitors S-Network's quality control processes for data and output consistency and accuracy and maintains the firm's EOD calculation engine.
Prior to S-Network, George served as the Director of Quantitative and Risk Analytics at US Trust where he managed the firm's Enterprise portfolio risk management system, developed a method to measure security selection skill using noise filters, implemented approaches for manager evaluation for the CIO, and established the company's first AIMR compliant investment area. George was also a Principal at Wilshire Associates. During his sixteen years at Wilshire, he was responsible for the growth and development of several of Wilshire's financial services, and assisted many large custodial organizations with the development of performance evaluation reporting. George has a PhD in Neurophysiology, and prior to working at Wilshire Associates, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow and Assistant Professor at the Brain Research Institute at UCLA School of Medicine. George graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a BS in Engineering Science.
Senior Index Analyst
Andrei is responsible for creating, constructing and implementing index selection methodologies and calculating final index results.
Prior to joining S-Network, Andrei interned at Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley in the Wealth Management division. Andrei graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelor's Degree in Finance and Management Information Systems.
Director of Index Production
Dalton is the Director of Index Production. He is responsible for all aspects of S-Network’s Index Production Services, which manages over 300 proprietary and custom indexes through EOD index calculation, corporate action research and handling, and file generation. He is also responsible for the development and on-going maintenance of S-Network’s Benchmark Index suite, which consists of over ninety indexes that divide the global equity market based on various market capitalization sizes, styles, sectors, and regions.
Prior to joining S-Network, Dalton served as a research assistant at 7Twelve Advisors, LLC, and a Registered Assistant at Girard Securities, Inc. where he obtained his FINRA Series 7 & 66 licenses. Dalton is a CFA charterholder and graduated magna cum laude with a BBA in Finance from Middle Tennessee State University.
Senior Index Analyst
Jack is on the Index Operations team and participates in development and maintenance.
Prior to joining S-Network, Jack Interned at Cantor Fitzgerald on their ETF trading desk. Jack graduated from University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in economics and minoring in philosophy.
As a member of the Index Production Team, Xingyu is responsible for production of S-Network's EOD files, as well as upgrading and debugging production programs and optimizing production processes for performance improvements. He also assists the senior analysts with index development and maintenance.
Prior to joining S-Network, Xingyu served as an assistant at BQNY and interned at the UConn Foundation. Xingyu graduated from Wuhan University with a BS in Applied Mathematics, and earned his MS in Financial Mathematics from the University of Connecticut.
Sarah is responsible for designing marketing materials and brand management. She handles client and audience-facing communications, maintains social media pages published by S-Network and coordinates logistics for conferences.
Prior to joining S-Network, Sarah served as Content Marketing Coordinator at American Management Association and has worked with a range of startups in the tech, media and health sectors. Sarah earned an MFA in Communication Arts from the New York Institute of Technology in Manhattan.
Zack is responsible for communicating technological and business requirements to service providers, as well as managing data quality across S-Network's websites, FTP and other dissemination platforms.
Prior to joining S-Network, Zack served as a Research Assistant in the Political Science Department at Stony Brook University, and as a Sales Assistant at Harri. Zack graduated magna cum laude from Augustana University in Sioux Falls, SD, with a BA in Psychology and a minor in Art.
